The secret lives of mice
4 non-standard fun activities to cheer you up
This is Emily Writes Back, the advice column for brilliant people, by Emily Sanders Hopkins.
Happy Friday, dear EWB subscribers!
Sarah Silverman tweeted this week, “Everyone is so sad.”
How to cheer up? There are endless articles on the topic. They offer diversions, deep dives into causes, maintenance of physical health, sympathy.
Here are four ways you might not have tried yet this month:
Draw mice shopping. What will YOUR mice be buying?
Prepare a small care package for someone you know (romance novel and mittens, jump rope and chewing gum, a British magazine and eye cream, bangle bracelets and dried mango?), wrap it in pink or red or lilac tissue paper, go to the post office today and mail it.
Write a letter to me at EmilyWritesBack@gmail.com and tell me how you are doing. I will write you back.
Draw a mouse wedding cake, send the drawing to me, and I will feature it in the next newsletter.
Wishing you a fun and relaxing weekend,
Coming Next …
Mouse cakes from readers, very negative car reviews, a recipe for vegetarian standing rib roast, and how to throw a surprise party the right way this time.
